The clipboard is the place in the computers memory where information that has been cut or copied is stored. It is a volatile storage that will be lost when the computer is shut down. The later versions of Microsoft Excel allow multiple items to be placed on the clipboard for temporary storage. To open the clipboard so that multiple items can be viewed used the edit menu and select clipboard.
